Shyam Selvadurai's Pigs cannot fly may be the story of the young young man who is split by truth and his family's efforts to suppress his true sexuality. His inner conflict sooner or later leads him to self destruction, when his dearest sari is torn in pieces. Due to gender interpersonal norms of his family, he is required to transition make up the beautiful, caring world of girls to the tough, unforgiving world of the males. In Shyam Selvadurai's Pigs can't travel, the gender social rules imposed after Arjie causes turmoil within him, and ultimately damages him morally. His uncertainty is caused by his mother's rejection of him, his cousin Her Fatness's worsening of his influence amongst the girls, his feelings of not that belong with the boys, and his forced transition to the world of the young boys. In Pigs can't fly, Amma rejects Arjie simply by not letting him watch her alter and play with her jewelry, which in the end torments him. Arjie acquired always been used to being present while his mother acquired ready for spend-the-day. He often enjoyed watching her adorn her sari, and playing with her charms which this individual found and so beautiful.
